Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is delighted to announce that Michelin Star Sven Wassmer will be the Executive Chef for a new gastro launch at Grand Hotel Quellenhof, which is set to open in July 2019.

At the young age of 31, Sven has already established himself as a leader in the industry. To date, he has two Michelin Stars and 18 GaultMillau points under his belt and has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. As a native Swiss, Sven and his English wife Amanda Bulgin will revolutionise the launch of two new gastro concepts at Bel Air restaurant at the resort: a healthy fine dining option and Sven’s signature restaurant. With a Master of Wine qualification, Amanda will be the restaurant Sommelier, sharing her knowledge and pairing delicious wines to her husband’s fine dining cuisine.

Leading medical health and wellbeing resort, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, recently announced a complete renovation of Grand Hotel Quellenhof to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2019. The two new restaurant concepts will complement the major renovations of the hotel, providing guests with an ever more exclusive culinary option. The new lifestyle restaurant will be open daily and will offer exquisite health-conscious dishes which will be created by a leading nutritionist, head chef and of course led by Sven Wassmer himself.

At Sven’s signature restaurant one can enjoy an open show kitchen and a fantastic wine cellar. Sven will also be on hand to welcome guests five nights a week. The dining delicacies will feature the finest regional ingredients with little treasures from all over the world. A culinary explosion on the taste buds is guaranteed!

We have found an extremely talented young chef in Sven Wassmer, whose style perfectly complements our own product, and he has ambitions to push on with us to rank among Europe’s best,” enthuses Hotel Director Marco R. Zanolari about the newcomer.

Sven is excited to put his own stamp on the traditional and world-recognised resort commenting, “Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is beautifully located, surrounded by nature and the mountains and my producers and top vintners are in close proximity, I am extremely excited to be involved with this project.”

Renato Wüst, Executive Chef at Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, who celebrated his 40th year of service on 01 July 2018, will continue to run the culinary side of banqueting and room service as well as the restaurants NAMUN, Zollstube, Olives d’Or and Hotel Schloss Wartenstein.

Nightly rates at Grand Resort Bad Ragaz start from £215* per person sharing a double room. Rates include breakfast, welcome aperitif, use of the Thermal Spa area and Tamina Therme, fresh fruit and Ragaz water each day and daily fitness and relaxation lessons as well as VAT.
